Sir Knights and Ladies,
Sadly, we share news of the passing of Sir Knight Paul S. Beatty, Past Commander of Jackson No. 53. Paul passed away on Monday afternoon.
Paul served as Eminent Commander in 2010 and 2011. Just before his first inspection as EC, Paul suffered a heart attack. He missed inspection and vowed to return the following year as Eminent Commander, which he did. He passed his inspection with flying colors. As DDC for the 4th Division at that time, I’ll always remember Paul for that.
He was also a member of the Jackson 53 Drill Team and a Knight of the York Cross of Honour.
Masonic services will be conducted by Trowel Lodge No. 132 on Thursday, December 13 at 8:00 P.M. at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home, 135 Broadway St., in Jackson. Read Paul’s obituary here.
Please keep Lady Betty and Paul’s family in your thoughts and prayers.
Finally, and on a much brighter note, our congratulations to Sir Knight Gene (Guy) Bing, PC of Ohio Valley No. 24, and Lady Autumn on the birth of their first child, Oliver Eugene Bing. He was born at 2:50 A.M. on Monday morning. What a gift in time for Christmas! Our best wishes to Autumn, Guy, and little Oliver!
