Hi Sir Knights:
Marietta Commandery #50′s Annual Inspection is tomorrow, Saturday, February 4, with the Order of the Temple beginning at 2:00 P.M. Ladies and guest will be welcome for the Full Form Opening. Dinner follows the FFO.
Sir Knight Thomas H. Gault, Sr., Eminent Grand Captain General, is the Inspecting Officer and he will be accompanied by his Lady, Dora.
Come out and support SK Vince Jett, Eminent Commander, and the good Sir Knights of Marietta Commandery.
Our get well wishes go out to Tom and Laura Sibbalds of Scioto #35 as they recover from their auto accident two weeks ago and to SK Charlie Collins, PC of Athens #15, who is home from the hospital now after a bout with his gall bladder.
The weather should be fine for travel as we enjoy an unseasonably nice stretch this winter.
See everyone tomorrow at Marietta!
The 4th Division Staff
Hi Sir Knights:
Tom and Laura are recovering after their auto accident on Saturday on the way to Chillicothe’s Commandery Inspection. Tom has some lacerations and bruises; Laura has a separated shoulder but her replaced knee is OK!
Laura sent this e-mail today. I’ve uploaded two of the photos to the 4th Division KT Group on Facebook. If one didn’t believe in the protecting care of our Lord and Savior after seeing them, I don’t know what it would take.
“Here are a few pictures of the remains of our car. As you can see God was with us and we were truly blessed. I can’t believe that we are alive to talk about it. My right shoulder is separated, but according to the Doctor this morning I do not need surgery, it will heal on its own. It is just a little strange to be able to only use one arm. I also have some stitches in my right leg, but the new knee is ok, just a little tight. The Doctor said he would take tight, as long as it wasn’t injured.
Feel free to share the pictures.
We appreciate all of the 4th division and their prayers.
Hopefully we will see you at Marietta.”
Everybody enjoy Saturday off. We’ll miss everyone with no Inspection in the Division, but it will be our last Saturday off for a while!
For the 4th Division Staff,
Tom Starr

Greetings Sir Knights:
The first Commandery Inspection for 2012 in the 4th Division will be at Logan #78 in Logan, Ohio, next Saturday January 7th with the Order of the Temple beginning at 2:00 P.M. SK Richard L. Weaver, Past Grand Commander, will be the Inspecting Officer.
SK Matthew J. Schetter, Eminent Commander, invites all SKs and Ladies to join us. The Ladies will enjoy an afternoon tea at the home of Willis and Harriett Dicken and return in time to watch the public Full Form Opening. Dinner follows the FFO, $12.00 per person, no reservations are required.
Here’s an update received today on SK Jim Shaw (Scioto #35) courtesy of SK Jim Krinn:
Had a visit with Jim yesterday and he seems to be continuing to make some modest progress in all areas and functions. The bad news is that after visits to some specialists, the sight in the right eye is apparently beyond repair. His attitude is good and he enjoys getting out of the house occasionally. Visits, cards and calls are all welcome! He hopes he will be able to do some limited driving after his doctor visit in January. Kudos to his son and family in their caring for him.
On a sad note, we received word today that SK J. Clayton Smith passed away in Lexington, KY on Christmas Day at the age of 95. Clayton was an outstanding person and Mason and Excellent Prelate for Athens #15 for many years, KYCH, was retired from the Athens City Schools system, and was a holder of the prestigious Knight Templar Cross of Honour. We lost so many tremendous Fraters in 2011, leaders in our Commanderies and great friends from throughout the 4th Division. The losses always hurt. But, as we reflect at year’s end, they afford us opportunity to appreciate our friends who are still with us even more while knowing that we will be reunited with our fallen Fraters in Our Father’s Kingdom someday.
Auld Lang Syne! To each of you we wish a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year! See you in Logan next Saturday!
