Dear Sir Knights and Ladies,
It is with deep sadness that we report the passing of two beloved Sir Knights and active Masons from our Division.
SK Bob S. Jones, PC of Chillicothe No. 8, passed away on September 17th. SK Bob had served his Commandery as Captain General for many years, even after a serious health crisis several years ago. Bob was a bright and earnest Mason, having served in many leadership capacities including 6th Arch Adjutant for the Grand Council. His easy sense of humor and personality made him very popular among the Companions and Sir Knights in the Chillicothe York Rite Bodies.
There will be a Masonic Service for Bob on Friday September 25th at 12:45 PM at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home at 420 First Ave. in Gallipolis. Masks will be required and social distancing observed.
Today, we lost a giant in our Division as SK Donald B. Gardner, PC, passed away peacefully at his home in Lancaster. Don was a Past Deputy Division Commander, Grand Prelate Emeritus of the Grand Commandery of Ohio, and served Lancaster Commandery No. 2 as Excellent Prelate for many years. As our Right Eminent Department Commander SK Jerry Pugh said of Don, “He was the gold standard gentleman.” I’m not sure there is a finer compliment other than that of a loving dad, grandfather, and husband to Lady Judy.
There will be a memorial service for Don at the Lancaster Masonic Temple; the date will be announced.
Please keep the Jones and Gardner families in your thoughts and prayers.
Courteously and Fraternally,
Tom Starr, Deputy Grand Commander
